Prompt 1- The cultural artifact I chose was this image of a man running and the caption says, "One more thing for men to rule." and at the bottom in smaller letters it says, "Join the men vs. women challenge at nikeplus.com". This message is used to sponsor Nike by trying to get men and women to join their challenge that is obviously putting them against each other as it does say "men vs. women". I chose this particular example because it is showing gender representation in fitness by belittling women. The message shows this man running which leads us to understand that the challenge is a race and that men will win because they always rule and that would just be one more thing for them to rule. As if they are saying that women are not capable in ever winning a man in anything because they cannot be more powerful than them. They are not taking into consideration that what if women were more conditioned in running then men or they...
